A Life For A Life.

Justice= Punishment= Revenge.

In those three words, Vernon Redekop shows us very clearly what the death penalty is all about.
A Life For Life sets out to clarify the Christian viewpoint on the death penalty, with regard to the teachings of the bible. In doing so he presents a case for rethinking our moral codes and values that resonates through every culture and religious belief system.
It is a must read for anyone trying to reconcile their feelings towards criminals and their punishment.
Redekop spent a considerable amount of time studying ancient Hebrew texts in order to clarify what he had been brought up to believe with regard to crime and punishment.
He has the gift of making complex issues easily understandable. Redekop does not merely reflect on the Bible's teachings. Rather he invites us to see prisoners as human beings; to search for the truth and acknowledge all the consequences of crime for both the victims and the offenders.
At a mere 101 pages it is a compact book, but not only is it succinct in its messages, it is easily understandable. Its imagery and reflections are life changing.
First published in 1990, A Life For A Life should be included in Social Studies syllabuses
worldwide.

A MUST READ book!
