Death Row Speaks was founded in 2001 and has been accessed over 2 million times.
Our site serves as a voice for those condemned to death, their families,
friends and supporters. We are engaged in the process of demonstrating the
humanity of men and women sentenced to death who are more than the crimes for
which they were sentenced for.
You
are invited to become a part of Death Row Speaks. All services offered by our
website are free of charge to any person(s) currently under a sentence of death.
For our records please provide us with the following information: Your name,
prison number, address, age, date of birth, race and years on death row. We
will post your profiles, photographs, poetry, essays, and short stories free of
charge.
It
is important to note that Death Row Speaks is not a match making service
for those seeking romance. Your profiles may request correspondence, but not
seek a specific gender, race or romantic interest. Your profile should be
limited to no more than 300 words and any photographs must be of only the
inmate, no photographs of individuals with an inmate will be posted. All photos
submitted to Death Row Speaks will be kept on file, and will not be
returned. The back of the photos should include the signature of the person
depicted in it. Once your profile, photograph or other writings are
posted on our site, you will receive a copy as it appears there. Our team will
make every effort to have your submissions on-line within two weeks of receipt.
Due
to legalities, we can not post any information relating to requests for
financial assistance or legal defense funds.
Death
Row Speaks reserves the right to edit any submissions i.e., correct spelling, grammar,
etc.
These simple rules are required to protect the privacy of all involved and to
insure that the goals of Death Row Speaks are met.
