name is Elijah Joubert, #999492, I’m currently residing on I’m yearning to be heard, loved, and understood as a person, and treated like a human being. Since I’ve been here on death row, people that I thought I could count on have given up and turned their backs on me. I have reached out to family and friends and tried to make them understand that when a person is incarcerated, all they have to look forward to is mail, visitation, pictures, love, and support. So, if you don’t have those things in your life while incarcerated, you become miserable, depressed, institutionalized, and a number, which is property of the state, in this false society they have built behind these walls in prison. People on the other side of these walls don’t realize while some just don’t care about how much a letter, visits, and pictures mean to a person in prison. It makes us in prison feel good to know that we still have people out there who still care about us. It makes you want to change and do good, plus stay away from negativity, because you know you have something to look forward to that you don’t want to lose. So,
