Not being there for
my grandparents when they needed someone to help take care of them.
16: Question:
Do
you have any strong spiritual or religious beliefs? If so do they
influence how you view the future? Answer:
Yes,
I’m a Catholic and I believe I would not be alive today to fight for
my life, if God had not saved me. I know that God loves all of us and
that he loves us when we are doing good or bad. All he wants from us to
ask him for help, because once we do our life will start to change. And
no, you may not get the answer you want right when you want it, but it
will always be on time.
17: Question: How important is it for you to have contact with your family, friends and/or the outside world? Please elaborate. Answer:
18: Question:
Do you remember your first thoughts
when hearing the jury’s verdict of death as your sentence? Will you
share this experience with us, e.g. your thoughts, feelings, reactions? Answer:
No,
I don’t remember what my thoughts were because I was in shock that
this could happen to me. I help to save lives and I don’t take them.
19: Question:
What is a typical day like for you on
death row? Answer: I’m locked up 22 to 24 hours a day with a camera on me. I am stripped and handcuffed each time I come out and return to my cell. I am allowed outside for two hours a day, Monday through Friday, in a Kennel that is surrounded by fence and razor wire on all sides and then in a brick wall. My view is the sky. You get 3, ten minute, showers a week. Everything else is done in your cell.
20: Question:
Do you feel that capital punishment
serves as a deterrent? Yes/No Please elaborate on your answer. Answer: No, I don’t believe in capital punishment helps at all, because taking a life will never return or repay for the life that was taken. I believe life in prison is much worse, because you have to relive that day each and every day for the rest of your life. All you can do is sit while life passes you by and know that you will never be a part of the outside world again.
21: Question:
If you could change one thing in the
world today, what would it be and why? Answer: I would change it were everyone loves each other for their differences and because of their differences. Life is far too precious to hate anyone or anything, just embrace it. Love each other as you love yourself.
22: Question:
If you could go back in time, where
and to what date would you travel and why? Answer:
I would go back to
the start, where Eve ate the apple and stop her from that, because if
she had been obedient then life would be different now.
23: Question:
What has been the most important and
life-altering event you have experienced? Answer: To be sentenced to death, because after that you have no life. I mean yes, I am still alive but nothing is mine. I have no say in what I can do or what I can have even.
24: Question:
What is the most important thing that
you want our visitors to know about you? Answer:
That
I’m here on death row and I still need people in my life, even more
now that I am here because they are all I have.
25: Question: If you have anything else that you
would like included as a part of this interview, please share it with us
now. Answer: The only other thing I like to add is how important it is for people to reach out to us, and let us know that there are people out there that care whether we live or die. Yes, I do care about myself, but I would love to know that there are others that care also. Please reach out to me!!!
