Stranded

Stranded on a Island,
Wondering how to cope.
Trying to find some answers,
While holding on to hope.

Stranded on a Island,
Without the things you need.
With each day that passes,
Despair begins to breed.

Stranded on a Island,
Time becomes a chain.
Binding your frustration,
To a solid wall of pain.

Stranded on a Island,
Your thoughts are all you own.
With no one there to talk to,
It chills you to the bone.

Stranded on a Island,
Looking for relief.
You work to stay inspired,
But all you feel is grief.

Stranded on a Island,
Not a friend in sight.
Heartache is your daytime,
Loneliness your night.

Stranded on a Island,
With nowhere else to go.
Reaching out for help,
But no one seems to show.

Stranded on a Island,
Your life has lost its gleam.
Even though you plight is real,
You hop it’s one bad dream.

Between the lines

When I read between the lines….
I see your fears, worries and insecurites.
When I read between the lines….
I see the tears you’ve shed over people
who have hurt and misunderstood you.
When I read between the lines….
I see a void that has left you wanting,
needing and yearning for something better.
When I read between the lines….
I see the wall you’ve built around your heart for protection.
When I read between the lines….
I see a mind thats’s weary from trying to answer
so many unanswerable questions.
When I read between the lines….
I see the loneliness, frustration and anxiety that imprisons you.
When I read between the lines….
I pause… and imagine how wonderful it would be
if you would just let me in.

I am Loneliness

When I tried to run,
you bound me.
When I tried to hide,
you found me.
When I tried to breathe,
you strangled me.
When I tried to speak,
you wrangled me.
When I tried to be honest,
you tricked me.
When I tried to be civil,
you kicked me.
When I tried to understand,
you confused me.
When I tried to be strong,
you abused me.
When I tried to be fair,
you cheated me.
When I tried to be compete,
you defeated me.
Who are you?
“I am loneliness”…

No walls

You opened your heart to me…
I felt profound affection.
You opened your mind to me…
I felt a true connection.

You opened up you soul to me…
I felt our spirits meet.
You opened up your life to me…
and now I feel complete.

Hope

Hope is our armor…
Through hope we gain might
it strengthens our heart
and wills us to fight.

Hope is our shield…
It’s life greatest buffer
It words of despair
and makes us all tougher.

Hope is our sword…
It cuts through depression
We wield it with vigor
and measured discretion.

Hope is our goblet…
We drink from its lips
We swallow huge gulps
and not just a sip.

Hope is our nectar…
It’s more then a notion
It nurtures our being
like a magical potion.

Hope is our feast…
Our ravenous passion
We want a full platter
And not just a ration.

Hope is our light…
It brightens our road
enhances our vision
which lessens our load.

Hope is our future…
Mankind’s greatest need
Success is the flower
but hope is the seed.

Almost dead

I don’t see the day you see,
The day I see is bleak.
I see bars, well armed guards,
And things that make hearts weak.

I don’t see the sun that shines,
I don’t see the stars.
I see pain, misery,
And bodies edched with scars.

I don’t see the flowers grow,
I don’t see the trees.
I see doubt, hpoelessness,
And lots of trembling knees.

I don’t see the rivers flowing.
I don’t see the streams.
I see waste, deficiency,
And men with shattered dreams.

I don’t see integrity,
I don’t see real truth.
I see men who’ve lost their mind,
And men who’ve lost their youth.

I don’t see happiness,
I don’t see pride.
I see doom, suffering.
And men whose souls have died.

I don’t see prosperity,
I don’t see true life.
I see strain, emptiness.
And faces creased from strife

I don’t see the day you see,
Each day I see I dread.
‘Cause every time tomorrow comes,
I know I’m almost dead.

Expectations

When overcome with doubt and fear,
And dawn has lost its luster.
When others say you have the strength,
But yet it’s hard to muster.

When days are filled with misery,
And hours of confusion.
When nights are just a grisly fog,
A bleak and sad intrusion.

When devastation weighs you down,
And problems grow like weeds.
When no one seems to understand,
And nothing fills your needs.

When life becomes a harsh routine,
And pain becomes your anchor.
When remedies seem out of reach,
And tension turns to rancor.

When things are at their darkest point,
And life has lost its magic.
When desolation hems you in,
And things seem grim and tragic.

When hopelessness becomes a voice,
That’s deafening but lyrical.
Look within your heart and soul,
Expect to find your miracle.

Happiness

There was a time I truly thought,
Happiness was something people bought.

But when I realized I was wrong,
I felt my heart becoming strong.

And once my mind and soul joined in,
I gained comfort from within.

That’s when an angel came to me,
To help define my destiny.

When I was lost, I had no clue,
But now I’m sure, Happiness is YOU.

One foot in the grave

Days of restriction, loss and stagnation
Trying to silence, your pain and frustration

Weeks filled with grief, bedlam and tension
You try to avoid, the grip of dissension

Months framed by heartache, anguish and blight
In spite of your will, defeat is in sight

Years marked by loss, exclusion and panic
In a war with your fears, you realize you’re manic

Accessing your future, though scars that grow deeper
Submerged in despair, you face the grim reaper

Desperately clinging, to the life that you crave
It’s hard to be hopeful. With a foot in the grave.

When you touch me

When you touch me with your hands…
I feel your passion, your warmth, your affinity.

When you touch me with your heart…
I feel your grace, your tenderness, your divinity.

When you touch me with your mind…
I feel your intelligence, your wit, your humility.

When you touch me with your soul…
I feel your honor, your strength, your civility.

When you touch me with your dreams…
I feel your confidence, your purpose, your creativity.

When you touch me with your life…
I feel your vibrance, your zest, your sensitivity.

But more then anything, when you touch me…
I know that I am loved, cared for and truly blessed.

Who can I turn to?

Who can I turn to?
When stress and anxiety attack me…
When pain and heartache overwhelm me…
When doubt and fear mislead me…

Who can I turn to?
When confusion and desperation frustrate me…
When hopelessness and mistrust detach me…
When lies and deceit disappoint me…

Who can I turn to?
When darkness and despair consume me…
When problems and worry baffle me…
When answers and solutions escape me…

When the weight of the world becomes just too much to bear.
When life seems like a dreary, desolate island and
When the simple act of waking up each morning becomes excruciating…
Who can I turn to?

That’s right…
I can always turn to you!

The first kiss

As two hearts, two minds, two bodies
And two souls consent to create
And fulfill an earthly fate,
Two sets of lips come together,
Quivering, challenging, yearning
And overcoming shared apprehension and fear.

Passion hungry, desire driven, a journey
To fill an accumulation of empty spaces,
Brains tingling, hearts pounding, souls searching,
Probing for a sign, a clue,
But not knowing exacltywhere
This untraveled road will lead.

Decisions made, futures planned,
Make or break, propositions finalized,
Questions asked and answered,
Will there be a second kiss,
Perhaps a third?

Who knows…. It all depends on
The first kiss.

Only meant for you

When I lay down to sleep at night,
I hold you in my heart so tight.

For with you, I have learned that dreams
are not as far as they might seem.

You’ve toched my life in every way,
and now I’m on my knees to pray.

Giving thanks for who you are,
an angel from a distant star.

So when you think of me, you must
know that you are who I trust.

To treat my heart with loving care,
and fill my mind with thoughts so rare.

Know these words I say are true,
for they are only meant for you!
