Poem #1

Winter Spring Summer Fall,
I live in Hell and my room is small
Four steps forward and four steps back
Like a caged tiger I pace in my tracks
Life on death row is nothing nice
Roaches invade my cell and so do the mice
I am now considered a threat to society and they want to kill me
But if killing is wrong
Then why are they doing this for our children to see

Poem #2

I do my best to let my inner light shine each day
But sometimes my surroundings won’t let me be that way
Negative talk and threats come from men I don’t know
This is because I was a prison guard here 17 years ago
Life on death row have been hard for me
But some day I know that I will be free
I must stay strong and continueto do right
And when things get to hard, remember to turn to the light

Poem #3

Love is something we all search for and something we make so hard to find
We should trust our heart more and not our minds
Love is sweet and love is fair
The question is “How much do we really care”
Do we care enough to make a stand
Or do we make excuses of why we can not stand
Love is patientand it never ends
If more of us showed love then more of us would be friends

Poem #4

Every day consists of moments that stand out and moments that quickly disappear.
In my mind my thoughts are so far away but yet so near.
Fear rests in the hearts and minds of those who can not accept things as they simply seem.
Sometimes fear comes between the reality you perceive and the reality of your dream.
Have you ever wondered what a good dream or nightmare meant?
Is one a sign of weakness and the other a sign of strength?
A great test in life is finding out if you have the courage to bear defeat and the virtues that appear.
Let us never forget that courage wouldn’t exist without the presence of fear.

Poem #5

When night turns to day and day to night.
When the wind becomes the air you breathe without sight.
When the things you touch become the things you even can no longer feel when the nightmares you dream becomes all so real.
When the simple thought of hope feels so good at the start.
When your blood no longer dances to the beat of your heart.
When joy turns to sadness and sunshine to rain.
When a sea of love from family and friends only dulls your pain.
When life throw problems at you in the bunches.
Take a deep breath, move forward and roll with the punches.
